Millions of people still need your support.
In September 2022, there was a national emergency in Pakistan after the country was hit by almost two months of continuous rainfall.
1,700 people lost their lives to the floods. 13,000 more were injured. Over a year on, 1.8 million people are still living in regions with stagnant water. This has dropped from 4.5 million – but large numbers of people are still unable to return to their homes.
Thanks to the kindness of people like you, we’ve been able to reach more than 930,700 people with necessities like food, shelter and safe drinking water.
But the impact of these floods is still being felt. Infrastructure, buildings, and livelihoods lie in ruins, and millions of people still need our help.
How your donation could help
These were the worst floods in decades to hit Pakistan, and this devastating disaster continues to affect lives.
The Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is supporting the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, who are still there, to help people recover. As we merge our emergency response into long-term programming, your donation today can help provide vital support, like cash assistance, which allow communities to meet their changing needs, whether that’s getting food and shelter, adapting to new health needs or rebuilding their livelihoods.
£28.30 could help provide a family with a kitchen set so that they have the basic equipment to cook.
£34.30 could help provide a family with shelter toolkits that include things like a hammer, rope and nails so that they can build temporary shelter to keep them safe.
£65 could help provide one person with financial support so they can meet their basic needs like buying food and clean drinking water.
Whatever you can give now could transform lives for the better – thank you.
